Motherhood

Today I want to post on Blessings:

I have lots to be thankful for...believe me the Lord has taken care of me.

I think one of the greatest blessings is motherhood:

My 6 grown kids and my 13 grand kids.

Motherhood is a vocation...I am not the greatest mother..you know we would all love to have re dos..but that not possible...the things I would have done different are numerous..

Spent more time with my children when they were growing up..
Been more patient
Appreciated more things
Not be so worried about how clean my house was
Lots of things..I am sure each of my kids could add much more.

How fast the time does  pass...now I have 13 wonderful grand kids...They are all unique and special..just like my kids.

Today the vocation of motherhood is not lifted up like it should be..it is one of the most important roles you will ever have in life...the most important thing you can do in life..if you have a career..and in the eyes of the world you are important..that too shall pass away..but that little baby that God gives to you..will live forever.

What a wonderful gift God has given us, to be able to bring forth our children.  He didn't have to give us that privledge..after all it is Almighty God and doesn't need any help..he is the ultimate creator.

I don't mean to say that being a mother...relates only to those who birth their own children..those who adopt, mentor, teach that is just as special.

Adopting children is very special..that means you make the choice  to be a mother to someone who didn't have the chance to have a mother..that's special..that child becomes your own as if they were born to you.  God smiles on those special people.

I found some graphics I made for mother's day..thought I would share some with you.

Please use these for personal use only..click on these to enlarge..save the larger print to your desktop..print letter size.

And now last but not least..
a special graphics
I wish everyone a Blessed and Happy Easter..may God Bless each and  everyone of you..Thanks for viewing my blog ...don't forget to see post about Giveaway..it ends at midnite tonite.

Good Friday Thoughts and Pictures

Today being Good Friday...I don't have any crafts to share

Just this a few pictures

This is from facebook posted by

Next this is a picture I found at a flea market..I had to buy it..I could not leave it hanging on the wall there..this once hung in someones home..someone who loved Our Lord very much..so now it hangs in my home..I love you Jesus.

Sacred Heart of Jesus may you be loved by every heart

Let me leave you with a beautiful song..this is by Tajci Cameron

She has a beautiful voice and I saw her video of the Passion of Christ
on EWTN called "I Thirst"
Be sure and listen to the song "Silently"

 SHE CAME TO SEE HIM
ONE LAST TIME
THEY TOLD HER THAT HE'LL BE
PASSING BY

SHE KNEW IT WOULD HAVE TO
BE THIS WAY
ALL SHE COULD DO WAS TO
SILENTLY PRAY

SILENTLY SHE FOLLOWED
AND QUIETLY SHE CRIED
WHEN SILENTLY HE STUMBLED
AND QUIETLY HE PASSED BY

AS SHE LOOKED UPON HIM
ONE LAST TIME
HE STILL WAS HER BABY
TENDER AND MILD

SILENTLY SHE FOLLOWED
AND QUIETLY SHE CRIED
WHEN SILENTLY HE STUMBLED
AND QUIETLY HE PASSED BY

THERE SHE WAS ALL ALONE
FINDING A WAY TO BE STRONG

SILENTLY SHE FOLLOWED
AND QUIETLY SHE CRIED
WHEN SILENTLY HE STUMBLED
AND QUIETLY HE PASSED BY

It is so beautiful..it makes me cry..she sings of Mary seeing her son one last time
as he was  making his way of the cross.

Thank you God for sending your Only Begotten Son for our salvation
Thank you Jesus  Our Lord and Savior for your Passion and Dying on the Cross for our salvation.
Thank Holy Spirit for being our Comforter

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen
Thank  your Jesus for your gift from the cross of your
Blessed Mother..now our Mother too!

Ava Maria

Bless each and everyone of you may you have a Blessed Easter.

A Gathering of Easter

Good Morning!

Yesterday, I posted the first 7 Stations of the Cross or Way of the Cross..today I have the last 7 Stations in the graphic below.

These help us to contemplate and meditate on the Passion of Christ during Lent..and when we say the Rosary..these are also part of the 5 decades of the Sorrowful Mysteries..namely..
Agony in the Garden on the first decade
Scourging at the Pillar on the second decade
Crowning of Thorns on the third decade
Carrying His Cross on the fourth decade
The Crucifixion on the fifth decade

These are said on Tuesday and Fridays..so that all thru out the year we are reminded of the price that was paid for our salvation out of the love of God the Father and Jesus his son and our Redeemer for each of us.

I will leave you with a few more pictures...I haven't anything to post in connection with crafts or graphics..this week I am more absorbed in things pertaining to Holy Week..but I promise I will be back with more freebies and links soon.  Oh..I will leave you with a vintage bunny or two to print..can't completely forget the kids on Easter.

Also when I was looking around the net..I found some beautiful pictures of Christ that I wanted to share with you.

Don't forget my give away..just leave a comment on the Giveaway post and you will be entered..also leave an email link to contact you..  There will be 3 winners...you are also invited to follow my blog..but it is not required..but would be appreciated..Thanks!

Pets, Easter Graphics and Stations of the Cross

Good Morning!

It's cold here my temp shows 31..cold for March.

Just a reminder..be sure and check out my post on my giveaway..it will end March 31st. at midnight..at that time 3 winners can select the necklace of their choice..so check out that post and be sure and enter.

Wanted to share these pictures of Murdock, Macey and Benny..my dog and two cats...really Benny is Ashley's cat..my granddaughter.  Benny has 6 toes on each of his paws except for one of the back paws..looks like a big footed horse when he walks across the room.  But he is so cute and we love him...this type of cat has a big name..but most people called them Earnest Hemingway Cats.

Notice Benny's big paw..then there's Miss Macey..Mandy my daughter gave her to me..I call this her retirement home...she can be a little snippy at times..she stays outside on a bed with a heating pad..but to be truthful..I spend most of the nite letting her in and Murdock out..she jumps over him as he is coming back in..reminds me of the quote "ships passing in the nite".  I have to hold Benny during this process as we have coyotes and raccoons..he's not too street smart at this time.

As for Murdock...he was a strayed dropped off with a little dachshund...I didn't want two more dogs..I had Mack a little rat terrier that I got from a shelter..but as it turns out..two days after their arrival..I found Mack at the end of the driveway..he most likely had a heart attack.  He was such a good dog.

So I acquired two more dogs. As it turns out the little girl dachshund and Murdock were attacked by coyotes...she was not hurt too bad..but Murdock was so bad..I didn't know who he was when he came back. He stayed a week in his dog house..then he came out and was healed...but he never left the yard after that..not so for the yorkies and dachshund..they went out one Sunday morning and never returned.

At that point Murdock bonded with me..follows me everywhere..he is a needy little dog..if you pet him..he doesn't ever want you to stop.  In the mornings when I go up stairs..I called it my upper room..Benny and Murdock follow me and wait for me to go back down stairs..He is such a good dog.

Once in a while they have a visitor..Missy Blue..Mandy's dog..we think she looks like Homer Simpsons dog..."Santa's Little Helper"...she is a really cute dog and no trouble at all..she stays with us at times when they go out of town..we really enjoy them all.  Mandy sent me this photo of her..sweet dog.

Ok..such a interesting post..lol..now you know about my pets..I'm sorry but I don't have any links to share with you for crafts today.  But I thought I would put up a couple of Easter graphics.  Maybe you can use these for Easter Decorations, Easter Baskets or decorating Easter Eggs.

Simply right click to enlarge images to their 8.5x11" size then save to your computer desktop to use for personal projects.

Last but not least, since this is Holy Week..I thought I would share the Stations of the Cross with you. This is a Catholic Devotion dedicated to Our Lord's Passion...I will share some links at the end where you can read more about it.  I created a image with the first 7 stations..tomorrow I will post the stations from 8 to 14.

The Stations of The Cross is said in the form of a prayer...there are 14 Stations each is a meditation and prayers.

It begins with Station One Jesus is condemned to death...ending with Station Fourteen Jesus being laid in the tomb.  Today..I have made a graphic showing the first seven stations..tomorrow I will post the last seven.

Lent is a blessing...it helps us to focus on our shortcomings and things that keep us from Our Lord.  It is a good time to remember the infinite gift that God gave us in sending his only son to save us.  What love the Father has for us..his only son.  What love Jesus has for us giving everything for us.  Our salvation was purchased at a great price...we must never forget his Passion.   I love the prayer after each station.

We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.

Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

You can click on the image to enlarge it.
Most Catholic Churches have the Stations of the Cross along the walls..there is a church at Fairfield Bay St. Francis that has a garden to the side where you can walk the Stations..it was very pretty.

We can't really have a Easter Sunday..til we have gone thur a Good Friday...we must never forget the Passion of Christ.

Here are links to two websites with beautiful Stations of the Cross on line..each station has a meditation and prayer.  So let us make the way of the cross with Jesus this week.

Well better finish up before I delete this by accident..my computer is slow and at times just as I get ready to post my blog..I make a mistake and it's gone..only to start over again.

So have a great day...don't forget my contest..I need to adjust the rules..all you have to do is leave a comment..you can also follow me if  you wish....I would appreciate that.

Monday, March 25, 2013

This mornng..I've been thinking about sewing...I want to make something today..don't know what...maybe a purse.
I love fabric...that's why I have about 5 plastic storage bins full of fabric...and tons of fabric scraps.
Bright, happy, colorful fabrics...so after I get my orders ready to mail..hopefully, I can decide what to sew...hope so..sometimes after my trip to the post office..I run out of steam and my best made plans seem to drift away and I find myself just napping in my favorite chair.
I usually get up around 3:30 or 4...so by noon I am really sleeply..but sometimes I get a second wind and manage to get something done. I see so many ideas on the internet...I want to try everything ...that's not good...I'm too scattered and in the end..don't get much done.

Enlarge and save above photo for ironon

Here is a pattern to make this sweet little blue bird pillow..simply right click on the last picture...save to desk top and print it onto ironon heat transfer paper (letter size) then following instructions on your paper..iron the transfer onto a 9x9" piece of muslin..stitch around all edges of design..stitch a stem, little flower and leaves.  Select a 9x9" matching print fabric...lay right sides together, stitch around edge leave small opening to stuff with polyester stuffing, stitch opening shut..and you have a sweet little pillow..like the one in my  photo.

Before I list the crafting links..I want to share a photo of Jesus..it's is his Devine Mercy Image..at the bottom of the picture it says "Jesus I Trust In You"..this is to remind us that God's Mercy is Infinite..there is nothing that he will not forgive, if you are truly repented and ask his forgiveness.
Devine Mercy Sunday is the next Sunday after Easter Sunday.  On Good Friday we start the Devine Mercy Novena..which is 9 days of prayers.

This link at EWTN will have more information:

"Jesus asked that the Feast of the Divine Mercy be preceded by a Novena to the Divine Mercy which would begin on Good Friday. He gave St. Faustina an intention to pray for on each day of the Novena
In her diary, St. Faustina wrote that Jesus told her:
"On each day of the novena you will bring to My heart a different group of souls and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy ... On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My passion, for the graces for these souls."

The Devine Mercy Chaplet is a beautiful prayer .... it is said on the Rosary Beads..you will also find it at the EWTN link above..to the side it will say Devine Mercy Chaplet...Here is what Jesus told St. Faustina

"First say one 'Our Father', 'Hail Mary', and 'I believe'. Then on
the large beads say the following words:
'Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity
of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement
for our sins and those of the whole world.'
On the smaller beads you are to say the following words:
'For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the
whole world.'
In conclusion you are to say these words three times:
'Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us
and on the whole world'.

Jesus said that 3 O'Clock is the greatest hour of Mercy, it is the time he died on the cross. I do believe we are living in the times of Devine Mercy...when Jesus is calling everyone to himself..he died for everyone...he loves infinitely everyone..there is  no one excluded from his love. He gave us free will...so it is up to us to let him into our hearts and call on him..he is always with us..he never leaves us..we are the ones who leave him..but he is calling everyone back....let nothing seperate us from the Love of God...Jesus died for each of us and his love is such that we cannot comprehend it.

Just changed my blog name from Happy Whimsy to
 Happily Blest.

Got to thinking about posting again and where I am in this phase of my life and thought this would a more suitable title.

Since at my age ..going to be 68 in Aug..gee that sounds old..I thought the new title would be a better fit.

I will be posting a lot of different things..since life is full of such a great variety of blessings..and there is so much to be thankful for and so much to explore and enjoy.

I believe life is a gift from God and is full of wonderful things that he sends our way...life is full of blessings and sadness...but even in bad times..after we look back..we will find that he had hidden blessings in every thing that happens to us..because he is always with us Thur good times and bad.

Since life is a wonderful gift from God..I feel he wants us to enjoy it and learn from it..because everything that we have is from the hand of Our Lord...we do nothing on our own..he sustains us in every breath.

I love crafts and trying my hand at new things..although I usually have 3 or 4 projects going on at one time..I find there is so much to do and so much out there to enjoy.

I have two Etsy shops..
Little Goodie 2 Shoes ...that's where I sell mostly Baby Monthly Onesie Ironons and various other designs .

Gathering Goodies is my other shop on Etsy...here I have a variety of things..
Stationary, Necklaces, Fabric Pins, whatever I fancy at the time.

I also have a room in a local flea market with my friend Carolyn..she is also the mother of my youngest daughter's husband...we really have a good time gathering lots of things to sell...Carolyn is much better than I at doing this..we both really enjoy it..that's what counts.

Here is a site I came across..they have lots of great links listed on this page...plus they have so much on their site..I really enjoyed visiing itl

The Long Thread

I would also say how happy I am with our New Pope..Pope Francis..he seems to be a very humble man..I look forward to his leading our church in the footsteps of Peter towards Christ Our Lord and Savior
May God Bless Him and watch over our Holy Catholic Church.

Ok..just enough for now..I will be posting some links to really neat things to make..be back in a bit.  Have a great day!
